5th Inter-agency Meeting on Sound Chemicals Management
18 October 2019
| Meeting report

Overview
The Inter-Agency Meetings on Sound Chemicals Management were initiated by the IOMC in May 2016, and in follow-up to the UN EMG report “United Nations and Sound Chemicals Management: Coordinating delivery for member states and sustainable development”. The purpose of the meetings is to provide an opportunity for direct dialogue between interested agencies and organisations and consider collaboration on the way forward towards the 2020 goal and beyond, in the context of the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Specific items are discussed in particular meetings, as needed. At the first meeting, agencies indicated the usefulness of meeting around one time per year, for purposes of coordination, sharing information, and obtaining feedback on new activities.
